The Beauty of Feeling

I know many of us are often feeling not the best. A lot of us feel scared, anxious, insecure, lost, depressed... And it's okay. There are many reasons behind these feelings. It's very easy to slip into the trap of guilt and shame for feeling the way we do, for not being 'positive enough' in the society where our image is everything. But being positive when there's so much pain and suffering in the world just doesn't seem right sometimes. I'm not saying that we should be hopeless. Hope and positivity are two different things. I think we don't have to BE positive if we don't FEEL positivity from within. We don't have to be anything that we don't actually are.

I've noticed how hard it is to make and sustain new meaningful relationships as an adult, especially after changing the country you live in for a few times. How difficult it is to find people willing to be vulnerable enough to open up to you, and be present when you do the same and dare to be vulnerable with them. I've heard so many people share the same struggle.

So, perhaps we can first practice being vulnerable with ourselves. Maybe, instead of running away from how we feel we can stop and take a look within. Dive into this deep and unpredictable ocean of emotions and allow the currents to cary us. It can feel like a dangerous thing to do after all these years of staying on shore, but as you relax and focus on your breath or body movement, you might notice that you're not drowning - you're floating as you admire the intense beauty of your emotions, and, at some point, maybe even feel the warmth of the sun rising in the horizon.

With love,

Justina
